The BIG Bus Show

About the Show, founded in 2022

The BIG Bus Show

The BIG Bus Show was formed in 2022, this was the brain child of Richard Ward a local bus enthusiast from Hadleigh, Suffolk. He had a working relationship already built with Stonham Barns and they both decided to give it a go bringing a new rally to The East Anglia bus & coach scene. Whether preserved, semi preserved or operational, buses & coaches of all types were welcome to the show.

With 35 buses booked in, the date was set for Sunday 14 August 2022. The day was a scorcher which sadly left some buses unable to attend, but the 20+ that joined had a fantastic day though despite temperatures soring past 30c!

In late 2022, Jamie Vendy of The Eastern Counties Bus Preservation Group approached Richard Ward to potentially collaborate and build on the success of the 2022 show.

In January 2023, a meeting was held at Stonham Barns with their events team plus Richard and a deal was struck. Not for the faint hearted but the 2023 show was not predicted to grow as it did with some 80+ vehicles came to Stonham Barns along with 1000+ visiting people, this tripled the size of the 2022 show.
The Show was held on Sunday 13 August 2023.

It has been decided that The Eastern Counties Bus Preservation Group will run the show in it's entirety alongside Richard Ward who is now a Trustee of the charity. We hope to deliver a show just like the 2023 show and this includes FREE entry for all members of The Eastern Counties Bus Preservation Group! Find out more here.
